In the early 80’s, designer Lou Kerns imported architectural elements from England and Europe to use as signature pieces in his commercial interior projects. In 1985, Lou founded his studio shop in Memphis, TN, devoted to refurbishing and reproducing these antique gems. In 1989 the fabrication capabilities grew with the addition of Frank Wilcheck and fewer and fewer items were imported until all products were fully designed and manufactured at Kerns-Wilcheck for use in both commercial and then primarily residential projects.
Over the years Kerns-Wilcheck has developed an extensive line of wood mantels, bath and kitchen cabinetry, trumeaus and over-mantels. Each item is built to order.
